North Carolina woman shoots, kills boyfriend minutes after cops left residence here ‘nobody is safe’

Police officers had just left a Garner, North Carolina home Sunday when they were alerted to a fatal shooting at the same address.

Garner Police said that Peggy Yarborough, 59, shot and killed 32-year-old Delquan Douglas only fifteen minutes after cops left the couple’s home.

A woman had earlier that night called 911 to save Yarborough’s life and remove her from the home where her violent ex-boyfriend also lived.

  • The caller said that both were armed adding that “nobody in that house is safe.” Yarborough was not home when cops arrived but had met her in the driveway where she said that she didn’t want to leave her home and would use her weapon if threatened.

    “I told her that she was legally allowed to own a gun and use it if the circumstances deemed it necessary,” a police officer wrote in his report.

    Minutes later, Yoborough called 911: “I had to shoot this man. He launched at me.”

    She was charged with murder after physical evidence and witness questioning supported the offenses, police said.
