An Arkansas woman was charged after calling police three times and asking for a ride, then cursing at a dispatcher who refused her request.

Tara Chambers, 22, faces misdemeanor count of communicating a false alarm. She abused 911 early Wednesday calling twice Lonoke County dispatchers, and one other time Jacksonville Police.

Chambers said she was in danger as she walked in an area near a busy intersection. In one call she asked:"911 doesn't help?" to which the dispatcher replied:"This is an emergency line. It's not a taxi number."

Responding officers said she told them she thought she had warrants and wanted to turn herself in. Chambers didn't seem to be intoxicated.

She is being held on a $545 bond.
