A 23-year-old California woman is accused of hitting a Trump supporter at a Great America Make America rally in Orange County more than two years ago was sentenced, prosecutors said.
Jessica Aguilar of Sacramento was convicted on Wednesday of a battery charge for hitting a man twice in the face during a rally at Bolsa Chica State Beach.
According to the Orange County Prosecutor's Office, Aguilar was sentenced to 20 days in jail, 10 days of collective work and three years of probation. Prosecutors said the prison sentence against Aguilar would be "canceled" if she performed her community service.
The March 2017 rally, which drew about 2,000 participants, became violent after counter-demonstrators tried to prevent Trump's supporters from preventing them from walking on the beach, the Orange County Register reported at the time.
