Alachua County news, Florida news.

An exotic Australian native bird that fatally attacked owner will be sold at auction along with 99 other animals, according to Madison news reports.

Marvin Hajos, 75, was killed by one of the two cassowaries he was caring for in his farm. The man had nearly one hundred other exotic animals on his own. All of them will be sold on Saturday, April 27 by Gulfcoast Livestock Auction in Madison.

"One of Marvin's wishes were his animals be sold at auction as soon as possible," said the auction house on Facebook. "This is an absolute auction and complete dispersal of his animal collection."

According to the auctioneer, Scotty Wilson, potential buyers will be informed about the risks of possession of the cassowaries and their deadly history.
