A California suspect was charged with murder in connection with the killing of a 9-year-old girl whose body was put inside a duffel bag a week ago.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department stated Tuesday that 38-year-old Emiel Hunt allegedly killed the victim who was identified Sunday as Trinity Love Jones.
Her dead body was discovered on March 5 in the Hacienda Heights neighborhood. She was reportedly wearing a long-sleeve shirt that contained "Future princess hero" quote.
Authorities arrested Hunt after witnesses reported saw him sleeping inside his vehicle.
The suspect was free in bond and expected to appear in his arraignment court on April 16, media sources said.
