A New York police officer was killed in the line of duty Monday after he was shot during a traffic stop in Far Rockway, authorities said.

Three-year veteran Jonathan Diller, 31, was shot in the torso during the traffic stop at 1919 Mott Avenue near Beach 20th Street shortly before 6 p.m.

The fallen officer, 31, was among other members of the department’s Critical Response Team approaching the suspected vehicle when shots were fired.
