A California woman is suing Costco for over $14 million after an incident that left her with a traumatic brain injury.
Sadie Novotny filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for Northern California alleging that a liquor cabinet fell on her while shopping at a Santa Rosa store last March.
Novotny and her husband were reportedly buying the cabinet when the model fell on her, inflicting serious “multiple, permanent, and severe injuries.”
“I caught the cabinet and pushed it back. My right shoulder, forearm, hand, fingers, and lower back hurt after the accident,” she alleged in the incident report.
She also said that a worn wooden pallet and placed on a worn wooden pallet when it fell “suddenly and without warning.”
Costco did not comment on the lawsuit that was initially filed in April.
