Deranged suspect goes on stabbing spree killing 4; wounding 7 more in suburban Illinois

A 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody Wednesday in connection to a heinous stabbing spree that left four people dead in Rockford, Illinois.

Police said that the horror rampage started with a burglary at around 1:14 p.m. and ended with the suspect’s arrest at 1:35 p.m.

The slain victims were identified as two men, aged 42 and 22, and two women, aged 63 and 15.

Seven people suffered injuries in the attacks and five of them received treatment at area hospitals including one in serious condition.

    “We are reeling as a community from another senseless act of violence,” Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara said.

    Rockford Police Chief Carla Redd added that not all the victims were stabbed.

    “We don’t have a clear motive in regard to what caused this individual to commit such heinous crimes.”
