Authorities in St. Petersburg, Florida said that a driver in a stolen vehicle crashed into multiple vehicles late Friday killing three people.
22-year-old Leosvany Roman refused to pull over after stealing a Ford Mustang leading police in a chase that ended with the multi-car crash on I-275 just before 11 p.m.
Roman rammed the Ford into two Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and continued fleeing before colliding with an FHP trooper’s vehicle.
He then turned around and sped away crashing head-on into an Uber killing the driver and two passengers.
“This criminal had no regard for human life. Our deputies, facing dangers, had to jump out of the way of a man they feared would run them over to get away,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
Roman was hit with a slew of charges including murder and vehicular homicide.
“The additional charges he faces will ensure the only road he’s ever on again is the one that leads straight to jail.”
