Pennsylvania boy, 10, arrested after stealing construction vehicle; destroying properties

A Pennsylvania boy spent about an hour in custody after he allegedly stole a Bobcat construction truck and went on a destruction spree through a neighborhood in Mount Lebanon.

The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. Monday when the 10-year-old stole the heavy equipment from a construction site and plowed it through a fence.

As he drove the vehicle on the sidewalk, he struck multiple cars, a stop sign, and another fence.

  • “I couldn’t make out a face, but I did take a mental note that the person driving it did seem a little bit short,” a resident of the neighborhood recalled.

    “They were wearing a hard hat with a headlamp, so it was quite bright – and you couldn’t really see his face.”

    Police revealed that the boy was arrested and temporarily detained before he was released to his family.
