New Mexico corrections officer caught bringing drugs into facility

A New Mexico corrections officer was arrested this week after he was caught bringing drugs into the jail where he worked, officials said.

Former Bernalillo County jail employee Grant Haneckow, 19, was booked into the jail on charges of bringing contraband into a place of imprisonment and trafficking other controlled substances.

    The Union of Metropolitan Detention Center corrections officers declined to provide an attorney to Haneckow because he is accused of committing criminal offenses.

    Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat addiction to opioids.
