Lawrence County news, Indiana news.

An Indiana mother told investigators that she heard voices telling her to “send her children to heaven” before she drowned them on Tuesday.

33-year-old Brittany Danielle Medina walked up to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office to confess to killing her 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter after doing drugs.

Medina told detectives that on the night before the slayings, she consumed Xanax and cocaine. The following morning, she fed the children and left them to watch cartoons.

At around 2:30 p.m., the mother started hearing voices telling her that she “needed to send her children to heaven today or there will be someone come and take her two children and her and place them in a dark hole.”
