Authorities in Baltimore are investigating the death of a young tech CEO whose body was found at an apartment building in Mount Vernon Monday morning.
Pava LaPere, 26, was discovered lifeless with evident blunt force trauma injuries inside an apartment building on the 300 block of West Franklin Street at around 11:30 a.m.
The victim is a Johns Hopkins University graduate who co-founded and led EcoMap, a company that specializes in ecosystems and proprietary technologies.
“The circumstances surrounding Pava’s death are deeply distressing, and our deepest condolences are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly devastating time,” the company’s statement read.
“Pava was not only the visionary force behind EcoMap but also a deeply compassionate and dedicated leader.”
Chris McNees, a tenant of the building where LaPere’s body was found, described the incident as “pretty horrifying.”
“I mean, just for that to happen anywhere in the city is obviously a bad thing but it’s hard to imagine why this would happen specifically in this building.”
