A concerned mother of three was stabbed to death after she asked a couple doing drugs outside her home to move away, fearing for her kids' safety.
Shawna Weems was stabbed and killed on Monday when she confronted 27-year-old Autumn Goodwin and a man about the alleged drug use.
Goodwin was arrested on Friday and charged with homicide, one day before a vigil was held at the apartment complex where the murder took place.
“She was my wife,” said Cody Weems of the victim. “She was my best friend, my rock, my soul, the mother to my children, just everything.”
Weems’ sister described her as a “fierce” mother and a “beautiful ray of sunshine.”
“Her kids were her ultimate pride and joy. Just seeing a mom so devoted to her children the way my sister was, it was just so amazing and refreshing.”
