Trump calls for ‘toughening up’ of law and order at slain NYPD officer’s wake

Former President Donald Trump was among hundreds of New Yorkers who attended slain NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller’s wake on Thursday.

Trump addressed mourners and reporters outside the Massapequa Funeral Home on Long Island calling for the “toughening up” of law and order.

“What happened is such a sad event. It’s happening all too often and we’re just not going to let it happen,” he said.

    The suspect, Guy Rivera, had 21 prior arrests when he confronted the young officer. He was charged with murder of a police officer, murder with intent, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon.

    Trump's campaign spokesperson said that the Queens-born presidential candidate was “moved by the invitation.”
