A 20-year veteran police officer in Washington DC was fatally shot by his wife just before she turned the gun on herself in a tragic murder-suicide Friday night.
The lifeless bodies of Christina Francis, 41, and her husband Timothy Francis, 50, were found at their Waldorf home at around 6 p.m.
Francis, who has served the Washington DC Police Department for 20 years, was the victim of a murder-homicide carried by his wife.
“Mourning the tragic loss of our colleague and friend is extremely difficult,” Metropolitan Police Chief Peter Newsham said.
“Detective Francis spent two decades protecting the community from violence, and to learn that he was the victim of a homicide is heartbreaking.”
Hours before the tragedy, Christina changed her profile and cover photos on Facebook, posting a video of her wedding and a disturbing description.
“That day meant everything to me,” she said in the typo-filled message. “ This marriage wasn’t put together for a great reason…got lost in petty s*** you believed was a mistake.”
