A Louisiana man was arrested Monday at the scene of a horrific, intentional crash that killed his girlfriend.
Anthony Cooper, 31, was arguing with his 21-year-old girlfriend Anastasia Rei Rayborn at around 11 a.m. when she stepped out of the Ford SUV they were riding.
Surveillance footage caught the couple yelling at each other before Cooper veered right into her as she stood on the sidewalk.
“He just ran over down,” a witness said. “It’s awful.”
Cooper ran over Rayborn and knocked her through a vacant building; her body was “bent at angles” and she had no pulse when a former firefighter present at the scene tended to her.
The victim’s stepsister said that the SUV used in the fatal crash was a gift from Cooper to Rayborn.
“She was so happy and then he never even let her drive it,” she said adding that the couple had a son.
“She chose the wrong man to be with.”
