A train hits a vehicle, injuring three people, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The accident occurred around 9:30 Saturday on Walter McCartha Road, according to soldiers.

Traffic patrol officials said the car was heading south on Walter McCartha Road when it entered the railway.

The car was then struck by a westbound train.

One person was flown to Prisma Health Hospital. Two other people were also transported by emergency medical services to Prisma Health. Their conditions are unknown at the moment.

Troopers are investigating.
