Columbia news, Missouri news.

A Missouri man had his charges upgraded after he was indicted by grand jurors on Tuesday in connection with a 2016 double murder, reports said.

Brandon Rapier has been charged with two counts of armed criminal action and one count of aggravated stalking in addition to his previous charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of 27-year-old Ciera Kolb and her friend Micah Hall.

According to court documents, Rapier was sending threatening emails to Kolb, his ex-girlfriend, despite the fact that he was banned from contacting her after he was convicted of threatening her at knifepoint in 2014.

Cole County prosecutors said that the new charges should have been filed in the first place.
