A 10-year-old girl died of bacterial meningitis on Wednesday.

According to a report, Abbigayle Dipietro's family did not know what meningitis was. The girl was killed so quickly by the disease, which shocked her family.

Her mother said she had complained of an ear infection last weekend, which quickly turned into vomiting and a crisis on Monday. On Wednesday, she fell into a coma and died.

Her parents hope that no other family will have to undergo this and ask people to look for symptoms such as headaches, fever, vomiting, ear infections and stiff neck.

A Facebook fundraiser was launched to cover the family's medical expenses, already raising more than $ 12,000.

The Abby Memorial will be held on February 22nd.
