A former Airport High School administrator is facing charges for having a sexual relationship with a 19-year-old student on school property.

Dawn Proffitt Diimmler pleaded guilty Friday to a charge of second-degree harassment, according to Richland County court records. A judge sentenced the former Airport High School assistant principal to 30 days in jail or a $200 fine.

During a special Monday meeting, the Lexington School District Two school board approved a recommendation from the superintendent to terminate an assistant principal in the district. Kujawa confirmed Tuesday morning that Diimmler was no longer employed with the school.

Between the dates of March 10th, 2017 and June 2nd, 2017 Dawn P. Diimmler was engaged in an alleged relationship with a nineteen (19) year old student enrolled at Airport High School while she was assigned as the school's Assistant Principal.

Dawn Diimmler further had direct supervision over the student as part of her duties and engaged in sexual intercourse with the student on two (2) occasions while at the school which is located at 1315 Boston Avenue in the City of Cayce.

Diimmler turned herself into law enforcement Saturday in Lexington County to face sexual charges.

She was freed by a Lexington County judge on a $30,000 cash surety bond.
