Officials in Northern California announced the death of a police officer in a fatal shooting during a traffic stop just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
Newman Police Chief Randy Richardson said : "Our Newman Police family is devastated by the loss of Ronil Singh, if anyone has any information regarding the identity of the suspect, please contact law enforcement immediately so we can get this cop-killer off the streets".
Photos of the suspect in addition those of the car he was driving were released.
The 33-year-old officer had been employed with the Newman Police Department since 2011 and was a native of Fiji.
He was pronounced dead after being transferred to a local hospital.
