Authorities in Titusville, Florida were investigating the disappearance of a woman when they discovered a man and a child eating dirt and living in filthy conditions at her house.
36-year-old Anna M. Primavere was last seen last Wednesday and is believed to be in danger. Police officers went to her home on Sunday to find a 57-year-old man, identified as Zongmu Wang, and a small developmentally delayed girl inside the home.
The man refused to cooperate with officers and the child had severe bruises in her lower back and torso. The relationship between them remains mysterious.
Wang was arrested and charged with child abuse. Primavere had no children, according to relatives.
