Detroit news, Michigan news.

Detroit police have arrested a murder suspect after he shot himself in the head during a police chase.

40-year-old Kenyel Brown is currently being hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining a self-inflicted gun wound to the head on Monday. Brown who had been wanted for at least a half-dozen killings and other offenses in and around the city was spotted by a bookstore clerk and a foot-chase pursued.

Officers used trained dogs to stop Brown as he climbed fences in Oak Park. He ultimately shot himself in the head and was later found injured: “The good news is no one else got hurt. Certainly, this could have been a very tragic situation whether we had encountered him at the bookstore,” Chief James Craig said.
