Double murder suspect fails to show up for sentencing after escaping from jail

A North Carolina woman did not show up for her sentencing hearing in a 2016 double murder case after she successfully broke out of jail, local news outlets reported.

35-year-old Brandy Nicole Davis was charged with three other suspects in the death of Albert Austin and Spencer Murray whose remains were found inside a burning car in 2016. She was scheduled for sentencing on Wednesday in Superior Court but she did not show up in time, Burke County Sheriff’s Office said.

Davis is a black female, 5’7” tall and 230 lbs. She has several tattoos on her arms. People are asked not to approach her and to contact the police at 828-437-5500 or Morganton/Burke Crimestoppers at 828-437-3333.
