Memphis news, Tennessee news.

Danahja Henderson, 18, accused of stealing wigs, is now charged with stealing a car that left a wounded man in Memphis.

According to police, the victim Lester Johnson was contacted by a young woman on Facebook on October 22 to request a trip from South Memphis to Orange Mound.

For Johnson, it was supposed to be a way to make extra money. Instead, he left stitches and scars as a reminder.

When he took the woman in front of the Cane Creek apartments, she was not alone.

Johnson drove them two miles. Then the unexpected happened at Buntyn Street in Orange Mound.

After that, he was bleeding and disoriented, but he spun, and he did not have to go very far before he ran into an officer.

Johnson was able to get her car back, but she too was left in poor condition.

Johnson physically says he's fine and always counts on his blessings to be alive.

Police said the hijacked vehicle was used during a flight attempt a few days later.

Henderson is scheduled to appear in court on Friday on charges of car theft.
