5years ago

Helena news, Montana news.

An inmate has escaped the jail late Friday and authorities are looking for him in western Montana.

Local news outlets identified the suspect as 27-year-old Tory Gee of Sheridan. He was able to run away from the Boulder County Jail and is believed to have stolen a pickup truck on his way.

Authorities have not given further details about the successful escape but said that Gee was able to "compromise" his jail cell and escaped.

Gee was on probation after he was arrested Aug. 17 on suspicion of assault with a weapon. He had a history of convictions related to assault and burglary and is registered as a violent offender in the state.

Gee is not believed to be armed but Boulder residents are asked to remain vigilant.
