Surveillance photos show 2 brazen crooks attacked NYPD captain during botched robbery.

Police on Saturday released surveillance photos of the two crooks who attacked a New York City police captain during a botched flight in Midtown.

The two men jumped Captain Stephen Spataro at 41st Street and 10th Avenue. Thursday night. Spataro was working with a special operations team at Patrol Borough Manhattan South when the suspects approached him.

When Spataro fired his service weapon, the two men dispersed. They left empty-handed, leaving the policeman slightly injured.

No arrests were made. The two suspects would be in their twenties. One man wore a bright red sweatshirt and red pants, while the other wore a blue hooded sweatshirt, police said.
