A Florida boy has died after he got trapped inside a washing machine as he played with another sibling.
The 3-year-old boy is believed to have died of suffocation when he climbed into the front-loading washing machine. "At some point in the process, the door closed," said Officer Cory Burkart. "Either he pulled it shut himself, or maybe the sibling closed it. That's something we're still looking at, and also when that door closed, did it create an airtight seal and deprive the child of oxygen?"
It remains unclear how long the child was trapped in the washing machine but authorities said that at least one parent was home during the incident. The machine was likely not operating at the time of the incident.
