Harrisburg news, Pennsylvania news.

A Pennsylvania police officer fired several shots at a man on Friday morning during a routine checkup after the police attacked him with a machete, officials said.

According to the authorities, the incident took place on the exit lane for Union Deposit on I-83, around 10:30.

The man who was shot was arrested by the soldier after he began to "aggressively follow" his police vehicle, Dauphin County officials said at a news conference.

He would have accelerated in front of the police officer before he stopped and stopped his compact car on the highway. When the man came out, he waved a machete and presented himself to the officer.

The shooting stopped after the man ignored the police officer's orders to drop his gun, officials said.
