According to Iowa officials, a man was arrested after trying to punish a 2-year-old boy who had taking his phone by setting on him for more than 20 seconds.
Larry Murphy, 31-year-old, was held in prison and facing first-degree murder and child endangerment resulting in death charges. His bail was scheduled at $1 million, Pottawattamie court records revealed.
The incident happened inside a Council Bluffs motel where Murphy was staying with the victim's mother and her kids. The 2-year-old toddler eventually take Murphy's cell phone which made him very nervous and aggressive.
Murphy who weighs 72.6 kilograms put the kid in the bed and sat on him as a way of punishment, police said.
The toddler died at the hospital with asphyxiation signs.
