Former President Donald Trump started his day in court Friday by wishing his wife a “very happy birthday.
Melania Trump, who never attended his hush money trial, turned 54 on Friday.
“I want to start by wishing my wife, Melania, a very happy birthday,” Trump told reporters outside the lower Manhattan courthouse where his trial proceeds.

“But I’m in a courthouse for a rigged trial. It’s a rigged trial – terrible. It would be nice to be with her.”
Trump faces 34 felony charges in the trial that started on April 15. His wife did not show up to support her husband, despite experts’ opinion that it would help his case.
“She’s in Florida. I’ll be going there this evening after this case finishes up,” Trump added.
