Texas man denied commercial driver’s license intentionally rams stolen semi-truck into DPS office

One person is dead and 13 others were injured Friday morning when an enraged man rammed a stolen semi-truck into a Texas Department of Public Safety office in Brenham.

“This is a tragic day for us,” Texas DPS Regional Director Gerald Brown said after the incident that happened at around 10:30 a.m. local time.

42-year-old Clenard Parker “returned with intent to harm” after he was denied a commercial driver’s license on Thursday.

    Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura told reporters that Parker backed up after the initial crash “with the intent of going into it again.”

    “Our fire chief mentioned that if he had veered a little bit to the left the second time, there would have been a collapse of that building which would have resulted in a lot more injuries and possible death.”

    The suspect, who was not injured, was taken into custody facing multiple felonies.
