A Danville, Alabama man was killed when his car went the Hudson Memorial Bridge and fell into the Tennessee River early Saturday.
Michael Gene Knable, 55, was identified as the driver of the doomed vehicle that plunged into the river after going through the guardrail on Highway 31 at around 1:50 a.m.

“Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the guardrail and a vehicle partially submerged in the Tennessee River,” said Decatur Police Public Information Officer Irene Cardenas-Martinez.
Investigators determined that Knable was driving south when his car left the roadway.
The cause of the tragic crash is being investigated.
