Greenwich news, Connecticut news.

The Greenwich Police Department identified the woman whose body was found inside a suitcase on the roadside last Tuesday as 24-year-old Valerie Reyes of New Rochelle, New York.

The gruesome discovery was made by a highway worker at about 8:15 a.m. when he noticed the large red suitcase in a wooded, isolated area of Glenville Road. Police said that inside the suitcase was the body of Reyes with her hands and feets bound. Her murder circumstances and how she ended up in the suitcase remain unknown according to authorities.

Reyes was reported missing since January 29. She was described by her mother as a humble, strong minded and creative young woman who aspired to be a tattoo artist. She occasionally suffered from anxiety and once told her mom she "was fearing for her life."
