According to the Kanapolis Police Department, police are investigating the death of 30-year-old Dionte Lamar Phifer.
A 911 caller reported shooting at a house on Wilson Street around 4 pm
When the police arrived, they found Phifer shot and wounded.
Police said witnesses saw a man flee the scene.
The investigation is still in its infancy and the police say they have no other information.
The Kanapolis Police Service asks anyone with information regarding this incident to contact 704-920-4000 or the Crime Codes at 704-932-7463 (CRIME).
A reward is available to anyone who provides information for the arrest and conviction of suspects in this case.
