A suspect wanted on kidnapping and sexual assault charges has been arrested in Pennsylvania after a manhunt and car chase.
Everett Simpson, 41, most recently of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, was arrested in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania.
State police said Simpson forced a woman and her child into their car outside the Mall of New Hampshire 1 p.m. Saturday and drove to Vermont. Police said he then sexually assaulted the woman in a White River Junction, Vt. hotel.
The woman and her son were able to reach safety and contact police around 5:30 p.m. after Simpson left the hotel room.
Vermont State Police said Simpson is expected to face federal charges in Vermont related to car theft, kidnapping, and sexual assault. the prosecution is being coordinated by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Burlington.
