Mississippi authorities are conducting a homicide investigation after a man’s body was discovered inside a trash receptacle behind a vacant house early Tuesday morning in Jackson in a wooded area, local news outlets reported.
According to Sgt. Roderick Holmes, the victim was found by a homeless man on February 25 in the 800 block of W. McDowell Rd. at around 8:00 a.m. The corpse and the trash were transferred to the state crime lab for processing.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed to determine the manner and cause of death. Meanwhile, no arrest has been made in the case as of Wednesday.
