According to Massachusetts police, a 21-year-old man from Woburn was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle rollover on Interstate 93 North.

Soldiers responded to the accident at 13:42 on Sunday. The accident occurred near Exit 38 in Wilmington.

Upon arrival, the soldiers found that a 2013 Woburn-manned Hyundai Santa Fe 2013 struck a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, forcing the Hyundai to leave the road on the right.

The Hyundai then returned to the roadway and overturned, while the Malibu hit the guardrail on the left side of the roadway.

According to the soldiers, a tractor-trailer traveling northward then hit the Hyundai.

The Hyundai driver was transported to the hospital and Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

The driver of the Malibu and the driver of the semi-trailer were not injured.

State police said the traffic was diverted off I-93 North at Exit 37C until 18:46.

The Massachusetts State Police will continue to investigate the accident.
