Two teenagers were arrested after a woman from Ohio was killed by a log falling in a park in Hocking County.
Victoria Schafer, 44, of Chillicothe, was on the stairs near Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills National Park on September 2 when the log hit her. She was declared dead on the scene.
The sheriff's office and the state's natural resources department discovered that the log had not fallen because of a "natural event," authorities said in a statement Thursday. Two teenagers might be involved.
The log that hit Schafer weighed nearly 75 pounds, and the teenagers reportedly told the police they had forced him over a cliff, according to the Dayton Daily News.
The two men were charged with reckless homicide Thursday and were currently being held in a juvenile detention center pending court proceedings, the statement said.
Teenagers were not identify because of their age.
According to the Dayton Daily News, Schafer, who ran a photography business, had photographed portraits of seniors for six high school students when she was murdered.
