Four MS-13 gang members accused of killing two people in Anne Arundel County pleaded guilty.
Federal Court documents obtained by the I-11 News team indicate that the gang believed that one of the victims, 21-year-old Jennifer Rivera Lopez, was associated with a rival group.
Investigators said Ronald Mendez-Sosa, Brenda Argueta, Ervin Arrue-Figueroa and Francisco Ramirez-Pena had lured Lopez to a remote area and killed her in 2017.
Investigators said the defendants hoped that their role in the murder would improve their status in the gang.
