One person was severely injured following a targeted shooting that occurred near the Ohio State University early Sunday.
The shooting unfolded in the parking lot of a nearby McDonald's at around 1:30 p.m. The university officials alerted the students on Twitter, reporting that an active shooter was on the run: "Active attacker reported on the OSU Columbus campus. Secure in place: Run, Hide or, as a last resort, Fight! Police responding."
The suspect had allegedly fired multiple times at his target, striking him once in the thigh, according to police. The victim managed to run and hide inside the restaurant before collapsing.
The suspect fled the area and has not been arrested at the time of this writing.
