Peter Pan bus passenger locked in luggage compartment; Driver arrested

A Peter Pan bus driver has been arrested and placed in investigative leave after she allegedly locked in a passenger in the luggage compartment for hours.

Wendy Helena Alberty, 49, was apprehended following the Sunday incident. Police was first notified when the victim managed to call 911. "On 8/4 at approx. 4:00 p.m., Troop C was notified via 911 of a female passenger who stated she was in the luggage compartment of a Peter Pan bus," according to Connecticut authorities. "Dispatchers were able to ping her cell phone, updating troopers of the bus location."

The bus was pulled over on Interstate 84 in Union, Connecticut. The trapped woman was released safely. Alberty was charged with unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
