A 52-year-old Greenville woman has received a sentence of 37 years behind bars after a jury found her guilty of murdering a 76-year-old woman while the victim was lying asleep in her bed in 2016.

A statement from the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office insisted that Malette Denise Kimbrough intentionally opened fire at Ruby Flamm once in the head while she was in the victim's house that was located in Colonial Avenue on November 19.

Kimbrough was held into custody since May 2017. She was found guilty of the grisly murder on June 12, 2019, and was formally charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins.
