Milwaukee mom-of-10 found dead in car trunk; domestic violence involved in murder

The remains of a missing mom-of-10 were found in a car trunk Wednesday, days after she went mysteriously missing, her oldest son said.

Tomitka Stewart’s death is believed to be the result of domestic violence and a 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the case.

“My momma been fighting for her life for a long time,” Lawrence Lejon-Jurnett, the victim’s oldest son, said at her Thursday vigil.

“You’re never supposed to hurt a woman.”

  • Police had asked for the public’s help in locating Stewart who was last seen alive near her home on Sunday.

    Her body was found in the trunk of a car near 29th Street and Ruby Avenue on Wednesday.

    “She’s literally the best general manager I’ve ever had in my life,” the victim’s former coworker said at the vigil.

    “She’s very nice, understanding. She was always there for you. She was just one of those genuine people that’s hard to come by in today’s world.”
