The body of an Alabama mom-of-four was found inside her car in a wooded, dead-end area Friday afternoon, hours after she was kidnapped following a crash.
Nakita Davidson was found dead inside her burgundy Saturn Outlook at around 3 p.m. Friday, police said.
The victim was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Birmingham at around 2 a.m. Thursday but when officers arrived at the crash scene, they only found a single abandoned vehicle and evidence of an assault.
Birmingham Police Sgt, LaQuitta Wade believes the 40-year-old was kidnapped after suffering injuries in the crash.
Wade announced the arrest of Davidson’s boyfriend Cedric Dwayne Robertson, 37, who was initially charged with kidnapping.
“It has been very heartfelt, it is sad. It is a very, very sad situation. It is a sad day and it bothers us deeply because Nakita had four children who will be without a mother,” Wade added.
