Woman arrested after 2 separate, random stabbings in downtown Philly

Authorities in Philadelphia have arrested a 28-year-old woman accused of randomly stabbing another woman and a baby in two separate incidents Saturday.

Investigators identified Takeira Hester as the suspect in the two stabbings that took place in downtown Philadelphia after she dropped her bag while being chased by the father of the attacked baby.

Hester first stabbed a 24-year-old woman in the chest at around 8:30 a.m. before targeting a set of 1-year-old twins in a stroller hours later.

  • In the second attack, one of the babies suffered an injury in their arm before the parents could react. Police noted that Hester said nothing to the victims.

    The suspect was reportedly wanted in New York City for aggravated assault stemming from an attack that occurred a few days earlier.

    She was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other offenses.
