An Alabama man was beaten to death by his roommate over an alleged Pop-Tart theft this week, police in Ozark said.
Billy Joe Maynard was found severely injured inside his home on Thursday, April 4.
He was rushed to Dale Medical Center where he succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries including three broken ribs and a ruptured spleen.

Investigators located Maynard’s roommate, 59-year-old Daryl Miley, and questioned him over the man’s death.
Miley admitted to assaulting Maynard with a metal pipe on the stomach region following a “heated argument” over the alleged theft.
Miley now faces manslaughter charges in connection to the incident as the investigation continues.
