School bus driver; 9 students hospitalized after vehicle rams into tree in W. Virginia

The driver of a school bus and nine students were rushed to hospitals early Wednesday when the bus rammed into a tree in the Eleanor area of West Virginia.

Putnam County authorities said the crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Route 62, Roosevelt Boulevard.

It is believed that the bus driver suffered a medical emergency when they left the road and slammed into a tree.

    At least one student suffered serious injuries that required surgery. The Putnam County Schools district issued a statement over the incident.
