Dad shot and charged with burglary after breaking into son's home

A Belton man has been taken into police custody and charged with burglary after he kicked down his son's home door and tried to force his way inside.

Woody Ray Duncan, 67-year-old, was shot in the elbow when he tried to enter his son's home uninvited and refused to leave when he was ordered to do so.

Authorities said that Duncan believed his wife was hiding in her son's home and that he was trying to get to her by breaking into the house.

Duncan was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated from his gunshot injuries. He then was booked into the Detention Center, according to Anderson County sheriff's office.

The suspect, of Oliver Springs Tenn., was charged with burglary.
